Trainee Solicitor
Trainee solicitor assisting across the firm's civil, criminal, family, immigration and public law work, with cross-jurisdictional experience from practice in England.
Osama is a trainee solicitor, having joined the firm as a paralegal in March 2023. He supports our matrimonial and family practice, with particular experience in divorce and nullity matters involving complex cross-jurisdictional elements of forced marriage and domestic abuse. He also assists in civil and criminal litigation, including personal injury proceedings, contractual disputes, bail applications, and sentence reviews and appeals, and he works on complex immigration and residency applications and public law litigation involving novel elements of statelessness and human trafficking.
Before joining the firm, Osama worked as a financial litigation paralegal at an international firm in England, where he assisted financial institutions and banks in defending claims involving insurance and financial mis-selling, and represented clients in the Small Claims Mediation Service in England and Wales. He draws on that experience to offer cross-jurisdictional insight across our practice areas.
assists in personal injury proceedings involving serious injury, employees' compensation proceedings and employment-related contractual disputes; frequently assists in costs enforcement, costs recovery and taxation proceedings.
assists in child custody, wardship, guardianship and adoption proceedings, and non-molestation order applications in domestic abuse settings; assists in divorce and nullity proceedings, particularly in the context of cross-jurisdictional forced marriages.
assists in residency visa applications, rescission of deportation orders and permission-to-work applications pending resettlement; assisted in substantiated non-refoulement claims and appeals, and public law litigation and reviews involving elements of statelessness and human trafficking.
assists in criminal defence across a range of offences including theft, drug and immigration offences; assists in High Court bail applications and Magistracy appeals and sentence reviews.
Osama is fluent in English, Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi.
